We've basically been told that the doctors don't want to risk any more treatments on my dad. They're concerned that they'll do more harm than good.
The weakness in my dad's legs is not related to the shingles after all, but the advanced growing tumor on his spine. He'll most probably be coming home in a wheelchair.
We're going to see about getting hospice set up, and getting a ramp made for the house. The house isn't really accessible, though. We're not sure if dad will camp out in the living room, or if Angie will give up her room so he can get in there.
There feels like there is a lot to do to prepare for Dad coming home, but I don't really know what any of it is. I'm putting in my two cents on medical supplies, and calling friends who have dealt with hospice for their knowledge.
Past that, I'm helping 'entertain' my folks so as to give them a small break from thinking about their situation. Heck, what are daughters for? Right?!

Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself after reading your comment at Dixie's. My name is Mikki and I am a C5/C6 Spinal Cord Injury also. I wish you a lot of inner strength with your Dad's situation.
I will keep visiting!
