Wow. After approximately two hours of my sister's frustration, we gave up trying to make my web cam and tablet work. I thought for sure I would have to return both items, and was not overly thrilled.
We decided to take the tablet over to my sister's house to see if it was my computer's wireless keyboard and mouse (whose program would not remove itself from my computer) that was making my tablet freak out. It said in the very lame instruction manual that these two items might contradict each other...
Anyhow. She installs the tablet software on her computer and ... nothing. Of course, this did not make Angie happy. And, the fact that she had a headache before we even started this whole process did not help her.
So, she remembers that her USB port doesn't always work, disconnects the tablet, reconnects the tablet and ta-da! It works! Of course, we play around with it a while, trying to figure out all the perks to it. Then, she thinks, maybe if I plug it back into my USB port, it'll work.
I get home, plug it in. All my frustration was unnecessary. My anger unfounded ... well, slightly. Why did the instructions not specify that unplugging the tablet was required to finish the set up (since it said clearly in the picture only diagram to plug it in before loading the software!).
Of course, Angie is slightly miffed that she did not think of this before we left my house. What can you do, though?
The tablet mouse does not work, but my cordless mouse works just fine. This does not bother me, since the tablet mouse is shaped weird and does not have the wheel that I prefer. The pen method is unique and will take some adjustment.
But, overall, considering its so late in the night, and I'm too tired to play around with it too much, I think I'll be pleased with it.
As for the web cam - who knows. One day it worked, the next it didn't. It was very inexpensive. Maybe it was labeled 'disposable' and I didn't notice. ;) We'll deal with that later.
