We're thinking about pulling together another benefit to raise the money to make the bathroom wheelchair accessible.
Tom mentioned something about maybe doing a silent auction. We did one of those right after Tom got hurt with much more success than I expected.
The problem with doing a silent auction is actually having something to auction.
So, I'm asking you, what types of things would you bid on at a silent auction? (This will give me an idea what to scavenge for.)
Does anyone around here have something they're willing to donate to a silent auction?
I suppose I should send out an email to our friends and put a bug in their ear.
You know, that whole phrase, 'put a bug in your ear'.... that's just wrong. Who comes up with these phrases? Why would someone of said that to begin with?
And, then, who would of said, "Hm, that sounds great! I'm going to use that from now on."
Yet, at the same time, wouldn't it be cool if you could say, "Dude, I totally came up with that phrase and now its a part of every humans vocabulary."

I'd say that just have people bring/give things that they feel that other folks WOULD bid on. It either works or it doesn't. If no one wants it, then it's owner takes it back home or whatever they want done with it.
Please, no bugs in my ear!
auction the gtos.... I mean, we should do an auction for the gtos ;-) I was thinkg of writing up some local places that sent us cards when dad passed and seeing if they had any suggestions... or are willing to make a deal lol don't think it could hurt honestly...
I'm diggin' the 'pot luck' silent auction, and have already gotten some positive feed back from a couple of Tom's friends on that. Good job Trish!
Yay for me!! I FINALLY did something right this week!
Sheila I say you just do a thing like last time when you just have a party and raise money no need for stuff really. I think that would be the easiest for you anyways.
uhm. three day no update.
you ok?
Ummm...hello...Tom is now more up to date than you!
