I'm considering purchasing my own domain(s).
That is as much as I know about it.
Gemme info...
How much moolah is it?
How do I transfer my stuff?
What do I need to know?
Can someone hold my hand if I really go through with this?

Well, the domain will cost in the range of $10 a year...
If you sign up through the host I use, "BlueHost" they give you a free domain with hosting.
You need hosting anyways.
There hosting has never failed me and it is $6.95 a month if you pay for a 2 year shot at once. I recommend this way...it is easiest. If you can't afford though they offer more expensive monthly rates.
There is an affiliate link on my site, or lots of others...if you decide to go with them. I recommend using someones link. It doesn't cost you any more and it is a good paying link for the associate.
If you need help passing over though...I did it and can "hold" your hand. You won't regret it. I did it last year October.
It's so cheap. For the domain & to hide your name/address (privacy) is less than $20.
GoDaddy hosts for like $3.95 a month & I love them. Their customer service is excellent.
I paid someone to do all the "hookup" stuff, so I don't know jack.
I definitely think you should take the plunge! What domain name are you gonna use?
Well, I'll chime in. I like Total Choice, and if you go thru them, I'll hold your hand (just because I know how they work).
Oh- and if you get your own domain, you don't necessarily need hosting. You can still use blogger and forward your domain to this site address.
The adoption site I did? That's actually hosted on one of my websites, but I put a forward on it, so it always shows as the adoption site URL in the address bar (rather than where it's REALLY at)
Ummm....HI!! Yep...that's all I have to offer on this post.
Ain't I cute though? LOL
go for it girl!!...let me know how it goes....so i can join
Just my .02... godaddy is a bad idea. If you forget to renew your domain, they will hijack it and charge you an OBSCENE amount of money to get it back.
To register your domain, I suggest dotster. Hosting is good at hostgator. They give you a TON of space and the customer support is awesome.
I'm a web designer, and have something like 25 domains. I've never had any trouble with the dotster/hostgator combination.
I can help you out with it if you need some more guidance.
